If this meter could register attacks from Spellfire weapons, I know of a large number of sims that would probably switch to this. Any possibility?

I'd love to include spellfire compatibility. The problem is, spellfire is a closed system. That basically means, that the protocol which allows weapons to do damage is kept secret. This is probably done so because SF is strictly commercial, i.e. weapon makers must pay for closed source dev kits and don't get a chance to make their own weapon scripts.

We at Metalife do not like such a strategy. We believe that the damage protocol must be open and that everybody who knows LSL should be able to script weapons without paying to the meter developers. Also, we do not include 'secret attacks' in the meter code which would allow some selected people to make better weapons than others (this is common among other meters). We try to keep everything open, free and transparent.

Many greetings,
Tala
